Transport and logistics company, Mainfreight, is expanding in Sydney due to significant growth in freight movements at its Prestons site.
The company has announced it will soon operate from a second Sydney transport branch to meet future growth requirements and improve service levels.
The new site is situated at 35 Tyrone Place, Erskine Park, located just off the M4 and M7 motorways.
“This two depot strategy (that has worked very well for us in Melbourne) will provide our customers with greater pick-up and delivery flexibility,” Mainfreight said in a statement. “It will also ensure we have Mainfreight operations, customer service and sales team members located closer to our customers (both inbound and outbound).
Mainfreight confirmed there is no change in the way its customers will consign freight or book pick-ups. Freight arriving into Sydney will reportedly be routed to the most convenient brand in Sydney for delivery.
Inbound operations at Erskine Park are scheduled to commence 7 September 2020.
Earlier this year, Mainfreight revealed 10 years of record trading.
