Waubra-based family business Marysvale Farming Company (MFC) Transport has recently taken delivery of a conventional 25m B-double tipper and a 25m Stag B-double, both built by Lusty EMS.
Starting off in the agriculture industry, Luke Molloy saw an opportunity to expand the traditional farming business into bulk cartage, which in turn saw the formation of MFC.
“[At the time] we received an offer to undertake a harvest contract in the Walgett region in New South Wales which helped us get our start,” Luke said, pointing out that he wanted the new venture to be recognised as a family-oriented business that delivered personalised service. The concept soon paid off, causing more work for the Molloy family and the small truck fleet.
The 2012 Wimmera Field Days then provided a further opportunity for Luke and Laura to reassess their business needs. With a shortage of trucks on the road and strong demand across Victoria and NSW for grain cartage, the Molloys had managed to consolidate some of their freight work and were looking at the possibility of doubling their fleet.
Looking for a flexible and versatile solution, they consulted Lusty EMS Western Victoria Area Sales Manager, Joe Horvat. Working hand in hand with Joe and the engineers at Lusty EMS, and following extensive discussions regarding the benefits of a conventional 25m B-double tipper against the highly popular 25m Stag B-Double, Luke settled on a safe bet and ordered one of each.
The first was a customised Lusty EMS conventional B-double based on 28ft lead slider tipper and a 34ft chassis tipper, providing a 44-tonne payload. A few weeks later, this was then followed by Luke’s very first 25m Stag, primarily used to cart gypsum and lime.
“The major benefit for our customers is the ease and the speed at which we are able to unload grain into augers and also to unload gypsum and lime. With the drivers not having to worry about splitting the trailers, we are saving half an hour, sometimes forty minutes at each drop off, and this time can make all the difference as to whether you get another load that same day or not,” Luke said.
