Australian truck and trailer parts supplier, MaxiPARTS, has announced the expansion of its network of retail outlets into Darwin.
According MaxiPARTS’ General Manager, Peter Loimaranta, the expansion was triggered by the company’s success in Mackay.
“We have taken the decision to start a greenfield site in Darwin after the extremely successful start-up of our Mackay site in November 2013”, he said. “We will be looking to replicate the key success factors of that store.”
Loimaranta added, “Darwin has changed significantly over the last few years and we believe it is a critical site for anyone wanting to be a truly national operator. We are committed to providing the right service levels to local customers, while also providing national support to larger operators.”
The new store will be located at 508 Stuart Highway, Winnellie, and is expected to be open for business by July of this year.
MaxiPARTS Northern Regional Manager, Alan Bianchi, said he is excited by the prospect of opening the greenfield store in Darwin. “The store will be based on the model of our Gladstone and Mackay stores, which are having great success in servicing companies involved in major infrastructure, mining and gas projects along with our core business servicing the greater transport industry,” he said.
“We understand from our exposure to large infrastructure projects in the past that service level and range are critical to meeting our customer’s needs,” Bianchi continued. “We plan on making the sufficient investment needed to achieve this from day one.”
