MaxiTRANS has announced that it will be opening a factory-owned dealership network in New South Wales to sell its six trailer and rigid body brands directly to local customers.
Previously represented by independent trailer specialist SX Trailers, MaxiTRANS said the decision to serve the NSW market directly was made in order to allow SX to shift its focus towards “new business objectives”.
According to SX Trailers, these objectives include the creation of a nation-wide trailer, parts and service offering. In line with that, SX announced the opening of its first branch outside NSW in Somerton, VIC.
“After 32 years of dedicated service to the MaxiTRANS range of trailers, SX Trailers have decided to relinquish their NSW MaxiTRANS distribution in order to build a national semi-trailer, parts and service offering,” the Chipping Norton based company said in a first statement.
Meanwhile, MaxiTRANS stressed the importance of the NSW market for the brand. “MaxiTRANS will establish a wholly-owned dealership network for new and used trailer sales, combined with comprehensive service and parts capabilities,” said MaxiTRANS’ Managing Director, Michael Brockhoff.
“Effective immediately, we have employed key existing SX Trailers’ sales staff Wayne Sloane, located at Warnervale, as well as Matthew Watson and Dean Price, located at Ingleburn, to ensure a smooth transition and to minimise any disruption to our customers,” he added.
Reportedly, SX Trailers will provide MaxiTRANS’ customers with interim service and warranty support in NSW as part of the arrangement.
What's more, all other dealers of MaxiTRANS brands in NSW will remain unchanged, with Hartwigs and Johnson’s to remain the Hamelex White dealers in central and south western NSW respectively, while Mildura Truck Centre remains the Freighter, Maxi-CUBE and Lusty EMS dealer in south western NSW.
The new arrangement will come into effect immediately.
