The National Bulker Transport Association (NBTA) will stage two key meetings over the next month as part of its annual agenda exploring the issues of safety, environmental concerns and land transport reforms.
The Safety and Training Meeting will take place on May 10 at the VTA office in Fisherman’s Bend, Melbourne where the agenda will centre around programs such as WorkSafe and the Emergency Response Day.
“This is a hands-on and practical session and we will have a tanker on site to discuss what WorkSafe will be inspecting in their up coming blitz,” says Rob Perkins, Executive Director of the NBTA.
In a joint meeting with ARTSA, delegates can also attend NBTA’s June 7 Quarterly Meeting at the Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE) at the Docklands, Melbourne.
“This is a joint meeting with ARTSA and will have a strong training flavour given the venue,” says Perkins. “We’ll talk tyres, hold mini classes on braking and suspension as well as give delegates a chance to experience the driver simulator at the facility.”
Formed over 20 years ago, the National Bulk Tanker Association Inc. comprises member companies and organisations involved in the manufacture, storage and distribution of liquid bulk products. Each member has a strong involvement in the dangerous and hazardous good sector.
