Designed as a high performance problem solving, anti-wear and anti-corrosion lubricant, the new compound is a heavy solids based pure synthetic dry film boundary lubricant. “Based on synthetic oils, it is treated with the latest rust, oxidation and anti-wear additives designed to provide lasting protection against friction, wear and corrosion,” says Andrew Bates, FMP Group (Australia) Product Manager. “At the same time it is providing protection against dirt and uneven pad wear.”
The new formula is fortified with a high concentration of a high temperature ceramic boundary lubricant that will remain in place and protect braking system parts at extreme temperatures from -50°C to more than +1650°C. “Traditionally such lubricants have had a maximum temperature rating of around 400°C,” Andrew explains. “But this this non-melting, extreme temperature protection to 1650°C will last the life of the brake job, continuing to provide long term protection against friction, rust and corrosion.”
The new Bendix high performance lubricant is compatible with most plastics and rubbers (especially propylene rubber – EPDN, EP or EPT) commonly used in disc brake caliper systems. It can be used on disc brake caliper assembly seals, all moving caliper hardware, rubber components, backing plates of brake pads or brake shoes, shims and brake shoe assemblies, metal to metal and metal to rubber contact areas. Its distinctive blue colour makes it easy to identify during and after application.
“Insoluble, waterproof and chemical resistant, the new synthetic lubricant can be used on virtually all brake parts across a wide range of vehicles including heavy commercial vehicles and trailers; passenger vehicles; four wheel drives; caravans; campervans and light trailers.
“Experienced mechanics understand the importance of proper brake lubrication to prevent uneven pad wear and assist in damping brake noise,”says Andrew. “With its unique formulation, Bendix Ceramic High Performance Synthetic Brake Lubricant provides the superior, long lasting solution mechanics expect. A new level of confidence has been created within the trade with the use of this advanced lubricant on every brake job, reducing possible customer dissatisfaction comebacks resulting from noisy brake components.”
Available in 6gm sachets or a 255gm bottle complete with a brush, the new Bendix High Performance Synthetic Brake Parts lubricant is now available from leading automotive and transport outlets throughout Australia and New Zealand under Part Numbers BBL10 for the 10 x 6gm sachet and BBL20 for the 225gm bottle and brush.”
