Colrain Geelong has recently invested in a set of truck/trailer hoists that will allow technicians to more easily inspect and service vehicles to the highest possible standards. This equipment has been added to the workshop which contains 8 prime mover and 2 B-double bays, catering for both large fleets and owner operators.
Brad Dalton, Colrain Geelong’s Workshop Manager, explained that due to the hoist’s flexibility, servicing required for items such as clutches and gearboxes can be performed more quickly and safely, which ultimately saves the customer time and money.
Another feature of the vehicle hoist is the ‘Trailer Lifter’ which gives the ability to lift a semi or dog trailer up to six feet in the air. “This is particularly handy when performing suspension and welding repairs. The extra access makes difficult jobs easy and we have confidence in the work we turn out,” said Brad.
The on-site yard is large enough to turn a B-double and is easily accessible from two street access points and offers drive in-drive out capability.
Colrain Geelong is also the site of MaxziTRAN’s new sales office and the company has used the facility to promote its innovative new Liquid Nitrogen powered ecoFridge system. In comparison to conventional diesel refrigeration units, ecoFridge has no direct emissions and operates in complete silence. Because it has virtually no moving parts, it is almost maintenance free, thus reducing maintenance costs and downtime compared to conventional fridge plants.
Colrain Geelong’s service facility is open from 7:30am to 1:00am from Monday to Thursday and 7:30am to 4:00pm on Friday whilst appointments can be made for Saturday. It also has two service vans which offer 24 hour/7 day breakdown service for operators who require it.
