Transforce Bulk Haulage assists NSW emergency service

  • Posted on Thursday 5th, December 2013.

Transforce Bulk Haulage, based in Dubbo, has made another contribution to the community by carrying the New South Wales State Emergency Service (SES) emergency number and information on the sides of two B-double tipper units.

The tipper combinations advising the important 132 500 SES emergency number were officially unveiled recently in Dubbo with City Mayor Matthew Dickerson, and Troy Grant, Member for Dubbo and Parliamentary Secretary for Natural Resources.

“This is another manner in which we can help the community,” said Transforce Bulk Haulage Director Steve Fieldus. “In recent times, NSW has borne the brunt of both floods and bushfires that has seen the SES committed to assisting people and if the emergency number promoted on our trucks saves just one life we will have done our job.”

According to Transforce, the idea to support the SES stemmed from a conversation between Transforce Operations Manager, Scott Murray, and SES Deputy Region Controller Phil Lalor.

The result is spectacular graphics on 19 and 26 metre B-Double combinations that cover a wide area of the state.  While the 19 metre truck does mainly localised work, the 26 metre combination can be seen on highways from Melbourne to Brisbane as well giving broader exposure along routes in NSW western regions as it also operates on road train duties.

The project was completed in Dubbo with images of actual volunteers supplied by the local SES and signwriting company Sign Vision applying applying decals to the trailers. The units have been on the road for a few weeks and drivers Craig Howie and Nathan Myall report there has been a high amount of interest across all areas they have travelled.
