Alan Kimber, founder of Sydney-based body and trailer builder, Banmere, has passed away following a battle with brain cancer.

Kimber commenced Banmere operations in 1984, in and old shed in Silverdale (Sydney Western Suburbs). His business produces car carriers, brick bodies, tippers and floats in addition to trailers and bodies.

Alan was a great tradesman with a great technical mind and Banmere quality is second to none," a close friend and supplier of 30 years told Trailer Magazine. "The business will carry on and Alan's Legacy will never be forgotten."

"Alan's right-hand man and son, Ben, who has been part of Banmere for 22 years will carry on,” the friend said – adding that Kimber is survived by five children, 17 grandchildren and his wife, Dee. "Alan brought Joy to many with his sharp wit. He was also a huge Newtown Jets fan and collected and restored Foden trucks. Alan was the most Loyal, funniest, friendliest and respected person."
