NHVR welcomes HHTS CEO appointment

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has welcomed the appointment of Naomi Frauenfelder to lead Healthy Heads in Trucks and Sheds (HHTS), a heavy vehicle industry mental health initiative.

HHTS appointed its inaugural CEO this week.

NHVR CEO, Sal Petroccitto, said that the appointment was an exciting step forward for the newly formed organisation.

“On behalf of the NHVR I want to congratulate Ms Frauenfelder on her appointment into this key role for our industry,” said Petroccitto.

“Ms Frauenfelder has significant experience in the mental health space in the rail industry that will stand her in good stead to lead HTTS.

“Healthy drivers are safer drivers, and that includes mental health. The good news is that having a conversation about mental health is not as rare for drivers as it once was.

“Increasingly, people are stepping up to have the conversations with their mates and in their workplaces and I believe that HTTS can play a critical role in encouraging these conversations.

“We all know that there’s no silver bullet to improve safety, but working together across government and industry, we can make our industry safer and healthier across the board.

“I look forward to working with and supporting HTTS as they tackle these important challenges, for the safety of all road users.”
