CRTNews Australia can reveal that equipment from Thailand’s largest trailer OEM, Panus Assembly, is currently being trialled in Melbourne with a range of straight deck semi-trailers spotted earlier this week.
The news comes less than four months since Panus Watanachai, CEO of Panus Assembly, spoke at the Global Truck & Trailer Leaders Summit held in Melbourne during April.
During his presentation, Mr Watanachai indicated that the company had already been exploring Australian variances in design. He explicitly touched on the opportunity to export to Australia, with the goal of bringing “ready to work” technology to the country’s bustling commercial road transport market.
Panus Assembly is already active in Australia through several joint ventures selling stationary equipment to the mining industry and mobile aviation equipment.
Mr Watanachai was not available to comment as yet, but CRTNews will provide updates once the brand officially launches in Australia.
