The biennial Perth Truck and Trailer Show has opened in the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre today with large crowds expected to see what more than 145 exhibitors have on show. All six pavilions at the venue are being used for the event, with more than $50 million worth of equipment on display.
A number of new products will be on display for tyhe first time, including the new GW 420 Quon from UD Trucks, which is now fitted with an 11-litre Volvo Group engine coupled with the Volvo Group automated manual transmission. The UD stand also includes a GW 470, MK 250, PK 280, CK 380 and CK 40.
Kenworth will showcase four trucks – the K200 with ACE, a customer T909, a T409 8×4 and a DAF CF85 tilt tray.
Meanwhile, the new Volvo FH makes its first appearance in WA. The display includes a split cab of the new model, enabling visitors to walk about within the new cabin and see the new design features.
Scania's display also includes the Black Amber special edition prime mover, which is part of a limited edition designed by Svempa, Scania's customisation specialist. Also on show is a cut-away demonstration of the new Streamline trucks to be introduced by Scania later this year.
