Victorian-based tyre company Ruband has recently added the Indian-made JK Tyre range to its tyre portfolio.
“JK Tyres has always figured prominently amongst the most purchased products in our portfolio,” said David Turner, owner of Ruband Tyres. “From 2001 until mid-2008, Ruband sold many thousands of these tyres through the OEM and retail side and they were very popular in all applications.”
According to Turner, the Ruband-JK Tyres partnership came to a grinding halt in late 2008 when JK announced that it no longer had the capacity to export as the radial market in India had increased dramatically.
“However, that all changed late in 2012 when JK increased production again. As a result, we went back to the meeting table, which eventually led to another contract being secured. We are proud to say that once again, Ruband are able to distribute JK Tyres. It’s all happening for us.”
