Transport and logistics provider, Schenker Australia, has obtained both the global OHSAS18001 and the OH&S Australian Standard AS4801 Workplace Health & Safety certifications for all of the company’s locations in Australia and New Zealand.
According to the company, the certification represents a greater emphasis on health and safety in maintaining a safe workplace and the inclusion of management systems planning tools, control hierarchy, consultation requirements and stronger requirements for the investigation of incidents.
“This accreditation is indispensable to the operations of our business and demonstrates our commitment to protect our staff and the general public from harm,” said Ron Koehler, CEO for DB Schenker in Australia and New Zealand.
“This will greatly assist DB Schenker in further developing an efficient Workplace Health & Safety Management System.”
The certifications follow the Australian division of DB Schenker completing its implementation of ISO14001 Environmental Management in 2010 and complemented the company’s previous 21 years under ISO9001 Quality Management standards.
