Scott Hughes has been appointed as Hills Tankers’ new National Fleet Maintenance Manager.
Hughes has extensive experience in the transport industry.
He began working as an apprentice mechanic in 1999 which led to a technician role in repairing Mack prime movers.
From there, Hughes went on to spend 24 years at Volvo Group Australia in a variety of sales and managing roles.
He also served as Service Manager at Daimler Trucks Newcastle between September 2024 and February 2025.
Hills Tankers COO, Scott Cullen, said the company is pleased to have Hughes on board.
“After 24 years with VCV Newcastle, we’re excited to welcome Scott to the team, taking the lead on our national group maintenance,” he said.
“With his mechanical knowledge and strong background in sales, I’m looking forward to seeing the impact he’ll make – not just on our maintenance operations, but also through his valuable input on truck specs and sales strategy as we continue to grow.”
