Victorian transport company, Sidelink Transport, has completed an exclusive trial of the new West Gate Tunnel currently under construction.
The transport company was recently invited by Transurban and Evolve Driving to conduct a driving test along the route using one of its High Productivity Freight Vehicles (HPFVs).
The opportunity to drive the first HPFV through the West Gate Tunnel was a privilege and a proud moment for the team.
“This milestone marks a significant step toward the tunnel’s completion and demonstrates the capability and readiness of our fleet to operate through this major new transport link safely and efficiently, which is expected to open soon,” Sidelink Transport said.
“The project will play a vital role in improving freight efficiency, reducing congestion and enhancing connectivity to the Port of Melbourne and across Melbourne’s West and beyond.
“A huge thank you to Evolve Driving, Transurban and the West Gate Tunnel Project team for the opportunity to be part of this exciting initiative.”
