McNaughtans has been appointed exclusive national distributor of Southco’s comprehensive range of locks, latches, hinges and handles, effective June 1.
With McNaughtans already stocking well-known brands such as Struts Australia, Orion, LEDs, Pecolit, Bloxwich, and Demolli in the stable of products, Southco is set to be a perfect fit, says McNaughtans’ General Manager Bob Platten.
McNaughtans is a major hardware supplier to the bus, truck and train industry, with an extensive distribution network and offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Auckland and Tasmania. “Our management team is widely experienced and have between them over 200 years within the industry. In addition, McNaughtans has experienced strong growth since we first started in 2003, going from a staff of two people to over 40 people around Australia,” Bob explains. “We are about to become one of the biggest suppliers to the industry,” he adds.
“We are able supply our customers with almost everything they need on a one-stop-shop basis; such as cam locks, hinges, gas stays, rotary vents, piano hinges, cargo track and bars, as well as general body hardware accessories. On top of that, we now stock LED lights, Pecolit flat sheet, Honeycomb, FRP plywood and of course, the Southco range of locks, latches and special equipment.
“All our branch managers and sales staff are in the process of being fully trained in the product and happy to answer any questions customers may have about the product,” says Bob.
“We will also keep a wide range of product in stock for customers, at all of our branches around the country. And whilst this will be a standard range, McNaughtans also has the ability to special order in any product the customer requires.”
McNaughtans began stocking the product as of November 2010, when it became the official Australian distributor of Southco. “So for anyone interested in the wide range of Southco products, please feel free to visit us at any of our branches,” Bob says.
