After years of planning, Southern Cross will be expanding its Queensland operations. A new facility, located at 14 Musgrave Road, Coopers Plains is the first Southern Cross Parts site in the state and will offer Queensland customers a full range of truck and trailer parts, as well as new trailer and van sales all at the one location.
This new site will be headed by Phil Foxe, who is one of the directors of Southern Cross Vans and has worked with the company for the past eight years.
“The opening of the new Queensland facility has been on the drawing board for a few years, and after much planning, it is now coming to fruition,” said Mr Foxe. “The economic downturn has resulted in us having to put some of our plans on hold, and this facility was one of them. Now we are making a move to really position ourselves in Queensland and increase our offering.
“We are confident to establish our parts business in Queensland and continue to grow our sales in all of our company products including trailers, vans and parts. When the time is right, we will also look at opening a service and repairs division at the site.”
Michael Orth has recently joined Southern Cross Parts and will be managing all parts operations at the Queensland facility. Having spent over 20 years working in the trailer parts industry, Michael is looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship with the company.
He commented, “I believe Southern Cross Parts is going in a very good direction of growth as it expands its parts services into Queensland – the company has a very good future ahead of it.”
In addition to bringing its parts division into Queensland, Southern Cross will also open its new hire division, Southern Cross Hire, which will operate out of the Coopers Plains branch. From 1 February, customers will be able to lease a full range of Southern Cross trailers and vans.
