In a move to expand the company’s national footprint, Southern Cross Transport Equipment has opened a new branch in Western Australia.
Trading under the name Southern Cross Industries WA, the new outlet is located in Maddington, some 20km southeast of Perth’s CBD.
It will give WA’s transport industry access to factory-direct trailer sales – covering the Southern Cross Vans range, the entire Southern Cross Trailer line-up as well as the Group’s imported '5-Star' range, which currently includes dollies, Skels, flat tops and drop decks.
The branch is run by Aaron Gilchrist, a local industry identity who can draw on more than 20 years of experience in the trailer industry and has a deep understanding of the Western Australian transport equipment market.
“It’s great to be able to service our local clientele directly and grow the Southern Cross name here in WA,” said Gilchrist – revealing that the launch of a stand-alone WA branch is a milestone achievement for the whole Southern Cross Group.
“We’ve consciously brought everything back in-house, allowing our company to deal with our valued clients from a factory backed perspective. And with access to the full Southern Cross Transport Equipment Group offering, I think we can really make a difference here,” said Gilchrist.
According to Col Deverson, Group Managing Director of the rapidly growing Southern Cross Group, the opening of the next factory-direct outlet is yet another milestone to complete the brand’s national footprint; but there are already plans to further grow the branch which will include other trailer products not currently manufactured by the Group, as well as spare parts.
“At the end of the day, we’re just taking control of our destiny. The Group as a whole – including our innovative van division, the tried and true trailer division and the dedicated parts department – has so much to offer that it was just a logical step to bring it to WA too.”
He added, “What’s better than access to a one-stop-shop offering the same proven quality across the board, from the vehicle itself to the smallest spare part?”
According to Mr Deverson, Southern Cross Transport Equipment can now draw on four dedicated branches around the country that all provide access to the Group’s complete product offering, making it more accessible than ever before.
“There has never been an easier way to tap the Group’s combined expertise to find the best possible transport solution for the job at hand, “ he said. “Wherever you are in Australia, there will be a competent Southern Cross expert nearby to help.”
To celebrate the occasion, Southern Cross Vans is putting on a one-off stock sale at the moment, where quick-thinking customers can save a solid $20,000 on a B-double combination.
“We currently have a range of new, high-spec freezer trailers in stock that are available immediately. Depending on the configuration, you can save a lot of money, so don’t hesitate to give us a call to find out more,” Alf De Fazio, General Manager Southern Cross Vans explained. “It’s a once in a lifetime deal.”
