The Australian Livestock and Rural Transporters Association (ALRTA) and the Livestock and Bulk Carriers Association (LBCA) will jointly present a 'Special National Conference' in Newcastle in February.
“Let’s talk about the real issues. Let’s get all sides really listening to each other, and let’s get action on our members’ issues,” National President, John Beer, said in an official statement.
According to Beer, the 'Special Conference' will be the most interactive conference the two Associations have ever held. “You’ll have an unequalled chance to engage on the big issues.
“The timing of the conference couldn’t be more opportune, seeing NHVR come into existence (…) and with the Federal election looming. This is our chance to express our concerns, ask the hard questions and get commitments to deliver real change.”
According to Beer, the Conference will include sector specific sessions and breakout workshops for all of members, joined by key supply
chain partners and government representatives. “It also gives you a chance to share your views and raise concerns with other key players in the chain.
“On the livestock side, we will be joined by farmers and agents and the bulk side will include discussions with GrainCop and other key grain players. It is more important than ever now to work together to make our industry safer and more productive – this is an important opportunity to progress this objective!”
