Steelbro has announced the appointment of TMC Trailers as its manufacturing partner and distributor of Steelbro side-lifters for the New Zealand market.
According to Steelbro, Christchurch-based TMC Trailers will manufacture side-lifter trailers to Steelbro specifications with the support of Steelbro’s engineering team.
TMC will also be responsible for the complete assembly of theache side-lifter unit and also manage the delivery process.
“TMC will be the sole distributor for Steelbro side-lifters in New Zealand and units will be sold by the TMC sales team headed by Richard Currie and supported by the Steelbro sales team,” Steelbro said.
“The partnership brings together the best of two companies – TMC with over 65 years experience in manufacturing trailers in New Zealand together with Steelbro’s strong brand and reputation in the New Zealand side-lifter market.”
The change in the supply process in Steelbro’s home market follows the recent announcement that Steelbro would cease production at its Christchurch factory.
Steelbro side-lifter cranes and control systems will continue to be manufactured by Steelbro at its overseas manufacturing facility, while local partners co-ordinate assembly, sales and distribution.
Alex Evans, Sales Manager at Steelbro, stated, “This is an exciting development for the Steelbro brand in the New Zealand market. Like Steelbro, TMC has a proud tradition in the New Zealand transport industry and our combined strengths will ensure that we exceed our customers’ needs and expectations.”
Paul Currie, Managing Director at TMC Trailers, added, “TMC is proud to be selected by Steelbro as its manufacturer and Distributor of sidelifters in New Zealand. The Steelbro product is a market leader in terms of design, quality and reliability and we look forward to supplying sidelifters to the New Zealand market.”
