Strategic alliance for Southern Cross Trailers

South Australian based Southern Cross Trailers has announced a strategic sales and service alliance with G&A Lombardi Pty Ltd.

This agreement involves the exclusive distribution throughout Western Australia of its complete trailer range of flat tops, drop decks, extendables, curtainsiders, skeletals and custom built specials. The alliance also includes the full range of Southern Cross Vans refrigerated vans including ‘Full main rail chassis’ trailers as single, B-double and road train configurations.

Southern Cross Trailers will also market and service the G&A Lombardi stable of Roadwest Transport Equipment including the Steelite, Hard-Lite, Bulklite and Contractor tippers operating in South Australia.

G&A Lombardi general manager, Mike Dunbar said, “The strategic alliance between G&A Lombardi and Southern Cross Trailers offers many benefits for all involved, especially the customer.

“Our industry knowledge of over 40 years in trailer manufacturing and sales, will provide Southern Cross Trailer buyers in Western Australia with the necessary professional expertise to make the right choice.

“Once a Southern Cross Trailer purchase has been made, our new ‘purpose-built’ multi-million dollar facility, located in Forrestfield, will provide a sound base for all aftermarket service, repairs and parts requirements.

“Added to all of that support are two family oriented businesses, both geared to provide highly responsive customer service that is personalised and proven.

“The new agreement is a good fit for both sides of the border where Southern Cross Trailers will also market and fully support our range of Roadwest Transport Equipment side tippers with service, repairs and parts throughout South Australia.”

In response to Mike’s comments, Southern Cross Trailers general manager, Brad Carpenter added, “Both companies and our respective clientele will receive maximum rewards from the new agreement.

“We believe our range of products, like the Lombardi’s stable of Roadwest designed and built trailers, suit both state market environments. We both produce custom built, heavy-duty trailers that last the distance in Australia’s harsh operating conditions, whether it be for on or off road use.

“Furthermore, we offer a sound history to deliver the goods and importantly back the deal, many years after the sale. Both our respective companies have been in business for a long time, with a reputable track record of producing quality products.

“The new alliance will further strengthen both parties’ position as market leaders in our respective fields,” Brad concluded.

The joint venture between G & A Lombardi and Southern Cross Trailers was officially sanctioned on 23 March 2010.
