At Cargotec’s Newcastle branch, Australia’s strongest man and former TV Gladiator, Derek Boyer lifted 800kg, a new Australian record; thus earning him the nickname “the Human Hiab”.
The 800kg lift was officially recognised by the Australian Strongman Association.
This record lift occurred during an event staged by Cargotec’s Newcastle branch to demonstrate Hiab’s advanced Virtual Cage and Boom Deployment Assist technologies to customers. Both of these technologies are designed to offer protection to crane operators.
