The wheel deal

Truck and trailer component company JOST has forged a strong partnership with Goodride Tyres Australia to supply a range of alloy wheel and tyre packages to Australian trailer manufacturers including PUMPA Manufacturing and Bulk Transport Equipment.

Goodride Tyres Australia is a 100 per cent Australian-owned and operated firm that is equally owned by both company Directors and has been operating for more than 13 years. The company’s core tyre brand is Goodride, which is a brand manufactured by what’s reported to be the largest tyre factory in China and one of the top 10 largest global tyre manufacturers.

Joe Limina, Chief Executive Officer of Goodride Tyres Australia, says the company was founded in response to what was perceived as a need for another strong contender in the growing local market.

“Having seen Goodride’s success in other global markets, our company Directors saw an opportunity to introduce this brand to the ever-expanding Australian market,” Joe says. “We believe the factory’s extensive range and commitment to product quality and value are exactly what the Australian market is looking for. A natural progression was to expand our offering to other items such as truck alloy wheels, allowing Goodride to provide a complete package for our trailer manufacturing partners and tyre dealers.

Joe mentions that while truck tyres are one of its specialities, Goodride Tyres offers products for all vehicles great and small.

“From the smallest passenger car to the largest item of earthmoving equipment, we have the full range of tyres to suit most needs and applications,” he says. “Our truck range covers key market sizes and is complemented by an extensive tread pattern range; our mission is to supply products that perform in the toughest Australian climate.”

When asked how the company was introduced to JOST alloy wheels and what features of the product stood out, Joe says, “We were looking for a wheel supplier to complement Goodride’s vision of quality, value, and exceptional service. “The JOST brand is synonymous with providing a comprehensive range of advanced technology transport components in Australia as well as other parts of the world.”

As for which trailer manufacturers Goodride supplies its wheel and tyre packages to, Joe says PUMPA Manufacturing at Swan Hill and Bulk Transport Equipment (Melbourne and Toowoomba) are two prominent customers.

“PUMPA Manufacturing is renowned throughout Australia for its consultative approach to manufacturing products ideally suited to its customers’ daily needs,” Joe says. “The company’s engineering prowess enables it to construct reliable and durable trailing equipment that produces profitable outcomes for the end user.”

Asked why the company chooses Goodride, Jason King from PUMPA Manufacturing says, “Over many years we have found Goodride Tyres to offer products of high quality and good value, and with very high levels of service.”

It’s a similar story with Bulk Transport Equipment (BTE), a company Joe describes as also having a solid reputation for producing top quality equipment, thanks to extensive engineering and manufacturing capabilities and the utilisation of advanced technologies that are incorporated into its processes.

“BTE’s relentless focus on innovative design and quality workmanship ensures its customers receive products of outstanding quality that precisely suit their requirements,” Joe says.

In response, Alan Griffiths from BTE says, “Goodride’s products and service have served us well over many years. The brand has been well accepted in the market and our customers keep coming back requesting Goodride tyres and JOST alloy wheels to be fitted to their builds.”

In terms of tailoring the packages to individual customer requirements, Joe says, “Our packages are tailored to suit the look, style and application of every customer. Whether it’s for on- or off-road use, using either machined finish or polished alloy rims, our packages enhance the look and performance of the equipment to which they are fitted.”

Warranty is another important factor, and Joe says both Goodride tyres and JOST wheels are covered by a five-year nationwide warranty against any defects in the manufacturing process. As for his expectations for business performance in the future, Joe says while Covid-19 has impacted in many ways, the transport industry has continued to perform well as retailers have needed to change how they bring products to market. He expects this positive trend will continue.
