Vawdrey will be unveiling a new innovation at this year’s Brisbane Truck Show.
The Auto Drive Titeliner is a fully patented automatic curtain system which has been in development at Vawdrey for the past 10 years.
Following successful trials with various fleets over the last year, it is now ready to launch in the market.
“We believe that we now have something that is cost effective and suitable for any type of curtain and can be fitted to pretty much any type of trailer,” Vawdrey Australia General Manager, Alastair Lang, told Trailer.
“We’ve had prototype units in service for the last 12 months with various fleets which have been a huge success.
“Driver feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.”
The Auto Drive Titeliner has the ability to automate trailer curtain handling by replacing manual labour with a one-touch fully automatic system.
This, in turn reduces OH&S risks associated with pulling curtains open and closed.
According to Lang, the Auto Drive Titeliner will transform the operations of heavy vehicles upon its launch via increased productivity, improved safety and time savings.
“One of the biggest OH&S issues for transport companies these days, especially with curtainsider trailers, is injuries to drivers,” he said.
“Particularly shoulder injuries from pulling curtains.
“The Auto Drive curtain removes the need for a driver to pull the curtain open and closed.
“With a simple press of a button, the curtain will power itself.”
Vawdrey will be unveiling the Auto Drive Titeliner for the first time on 15 May at the Brisbane Truck Show.
