On May 19, Victorian Transport Association (VTA) CEO Philip Lovel announced that nominations for the 21st Annual Australian Freight Industry Awards were open. These nominations will close on Monday, 23 August and the Awards will take place on Saturday, 11 September 2010 at the Melbourne Convention Centre Plenary.
“These unique awards are designed to reward excellence and to raise the standards and public perception of the Australian Freight and Logistics Industry,” said Mr Lovel.
He stated that the night would once again be a spectacular event with great food and entertainment, and called the event a “celebration of our industry”.
Mr Lovel continued, “I strongly encourage companies to nominate for the Awards. For over twenty years, companies and individuals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to make their work more innovative, efficient and safe have been publicly recognised and honoured at the Australian Freight Industry Awards. Entering the Awards is a powerful demonstration that shows your organisation values employees and their contributions.
“For over 20 years, these Awards have recognised the people and companies who have contributed to shaping the industry into what it is today and into the future. Saturday, 11 September will be a fantastic evening to celebrate this industry and its people.”
This year, the Freight Industry Awards will be presented for six categories: Australian Best Practice Safety Award, Australian Freight Innovation/Technology Award, Australian Freight and Logistics Award, Australian Freight Environmental Award, Australian Freight Industry Promotion and Careers Award, and Australian Freight and Logistics Personality of the Year.
