In the first acquisition announcement since Tieman made the decision to close its Service and Tail Lift businesses, Wastech Engineering has signed a Heads of Agreement to acquire the Tieman National Service business.
Effective immediately, the Tieman National Service business will be called 'Wastech Field Service' and will retain the Tieman Service staff, technicians and national fleet.
“Both brands are synonymous with quality and outstanding customer service; the natural synergies between the businesses are clearly evident,” said Wastech CEO, Brett Jones, in a press release.
Geoff Bent, Tieman National Branch Operations Manager, will continue to spearhead the business and report to Jones, and the 1300 TIEMAN phone number and existing technician numbers will remain for the time being.
According to Wastech, a key benefit of the acquisition is “further enhancement of our customer service experience through the combination of the established Wastech Service Fleet and the Tieman Service business”.
The acquisition adds a National Service Fleet of over 60 service vehicles with locations in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide to the Wastech business.
According to Wastech, the acquisition which will reportedly provide “increased customer satisfaction from a broader service footprint with access to two market leading brands and a complete service provider from equipment design and manufacture to after sales service and support on a national level.”
