Canadian IT software specialist, Wenco, has been tasked with supporting advanced operations in Western Australia’s mining sector with a high-tech fleet management system.
According to a report by Mining Innovation News, Wenso will provide a cutting edge fleet management system to help operators track equipment activity, location, time, production, and maintenance information.
The project, which is 70 per cent owned by mining company, Hancock Prospecting, will incorporate new technologies in order to increase productivity and accuracy.
The contract will involve an initial deployment of 34 Wenco units for shovels, trucks and dozers, which will begin in 2014 at the Roy Hill project, in the Pilbara region of WA.
